July 22nd - 23rdVirtual Event!

Eventually consistent commerce

Kyle Sorrels

When: July 23 @9:00amET

The content is based upon a previous understanding of LAMP/ Drupal-based commerce. The project is heavily reliant on an outdated as400/IBM mainframe. Most commerce decisions must leverage the baked-in business logic of the as400 via ODBC. Mating AS400 to drupal has significant difficulties, and disregards future proofing. We decouple the commerce to an eventually consistent process-- which leverages Redis Streams, Node.js, and highly scalable infrastructures to match. In this presentation, we will talk about eventually consistent applications using a bidirectional event-driven message bus in JavaScript. Session attendees should be familiar with Php, MySQL, node.js, redis php-based commerce applications.
